Why We Serve

Many ask what motivates young people to volunteer their time and energy to serve at the Dallas Ministry Center. Most young people come because they have a heart turned to the Lord and want to be active in His service. Many have a desire to make Christian families a success and have an impact in others' lives. The Dallas Ministry Center is a wonderful place to fulfill these goals. The Center primarily serves to support homeschooled families and students, as well as encourage other Christian ministries and organizations.

"Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your Heart; for consider what great things He has done for You."     1 Samuel 12:24

Anna"One of the things I have learned from my times working at the Dallas Ministry Center is that even small things that seem inconsequential or trivial, when performed with a servant's spirit, can minister to those around me."
~ Anna Bower

What kind of time commitment do you require?

DMC staff members and their families should seek the Lord for His guidance in determining an appropriate time for service. Service periods will then be coordinated with the ministry center and can range from approximately one week to several months.

Julie"The Lord showed me so many things while here on staff. The two things that spoke to me the most, was an EXCEL session on "Why you believe, what you believe?" by Gina Novotny. Since then, I've been able to write out answers to frequently asked questions on different things, such as clothes, movies, etc. I have a better foundation on where I stand, which I give all praise and glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord on High for His goodness towards me! I am so thankful that I came!"
~ Julie Magouirk

Amy"Being here has been one of the most beneficial experiences for me, from learning new useful skills, being daily encouraged in the Lord, to having all the positive encouragement around daily from other staff has really blessed me. I feel like I grew spiritually and mentally. God has done some really awesome things while I have been here. He has answered prayer by showing me a bigger and better picture of what He has for my life. He has taught me patience and understanding through teammates and roommates. God knew exactly what He was doing in bringing me here."
